Gate 2 Plate was opened in the summer of 2007, it is situated next to the already establised family business, Mayfield Golf Centre. The family run farm is only two miles from the farm shop which produces home reared quality Beef, rare breed Pork, Potatoes and seasonal Vegetables. Along side our own meat and produce we source many products from local producers wide range of tradiontally made/produces foods, these include:

We are always looking to extend the variety of products to our customers from local and British producers. Together with the ample parking and bright spacious premises, you are guaranteed a warm friendly welcome at Gate 2 Plate.

The Beef Cattle from our farm are traditionally reared and live a natural life, once back from the abattoir it is then hung for a minimum of three weeks before reaching our shop, where it is then hung for a minimum of three weeks to give the meat a greater taste and tenderness.
Our rare breed pigs include Tamworth Gloucester old spot and large black. Just like our beef cattle the pigs have a natural outdoor environment to live in, enjoying rolling around in the mud as allpigs like to do. This is succulent and full of flavour and also has great crackling.
We have an open plan butchery where you can watch our butchers at work from breaking down whole carcasses of meat into many different cuts and joints, this gives you the opportunity to ask for a particular cut which you may require for a certain recipe or just for a special occasion, so don't be afraid to ask.
There is a variety of sausages to choose from which are all made by our butchers using a minimum of 78% meat. these are just some of the sausages available to you:

Along side our range of sausages our butchers make all our beef, lamb and pork burgers. For those Summer BBQ's, you can sizzle up some delicious kebabs like minted lamb, chinese chicken and hot & spicy chicken.
We source local producers for turkey and free range chickens but also sell farm assured poultry.
To celebrate Easter and Christmas we offer local turkey, free range chickens and source British produced ducks and geese.
We have a kitchen on premises which is also open plan, just like our butchery.
This enables you to see all the different stages to making our pies, pasties and sausage rolls, from the initial preparation of the meat and vegetables right through to the baking of these products.
We also make our own faggots, which gives a wonderful aroma in the shop as they are cooling. Apart from our pies and faggots we have a range of homemade cakes, Bara Brith is among one of the favourites on offer. We also have a selection of homemade sponges, which is made by a local producer.
For a quick easy lunch or supper why not go for some scrumptious ham which has been slow cooked in our kitchen and freshly sliced to your liking and to accompany this try our own amazing creamy coleslaw.
